A New Thing….a New Year
Isaiah 43:21 “This people have I formed for Myself, they shall show forth My praise.”
God has formed us for Himself…..let us show forth His praise!
This is a new year, perhaps a new beginning…..at least, it can be….in our souls, yielding more to the Holy Spirit within.
Romans 6:16 “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”
We can not change circumstances……but we can get the love, joy, peace, and all the fruits of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23)…that are our portion for today.
These are not for others…..although they affect others…through our being yielded to God….
….but they are for us….giving us joy instead of sorrow, peace in place of confusion or hurt,…
…..and God places this first….love, by the Holy Spirit….because He would have us know that He loves us….and that He has enough love to work through us…and hold us up.
Deuteronomy 33:27 “The Eternal God is our refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms:…..”
As Christians, we should wake up each morning and see the day as belonging to Him.
Whether we go to work, or stay home and teach our children, or work online…..
…this day is the Lord’s…..and we are part of His plan for it.
Remember not the former things….whether good or bad, they should not influence the work or words of today.
Let us get on with the Lord’s Will for our lives now.
Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
He will make “a Way” in the wilderness of this world….
….and did He not do that very thing, when He sent HIs Son to be “the Way the Truth and the Life” for us?
….and isn’t He now the same?
He is the Way. Do you need a way through some situation…..He is there.
He is the Truth….and He will tell you the truth….you need not be concerned about getting lost in this world’s speech…or influence, if you listen to Him.
He is the Life…always bringing life to us,….removing sin, and self….and giving us His character.
And rivers in the desert….
….certainly, through Christ, we have rivers of living water in the barren desert of our souls…
….but also, He will give rivers of blessings by the Holy Spirit….to those who make Him their all in all.
Let us commit today into the Lord’s hands….asking His Will done…within us and through us….and then let us yield to the Holy Spirit within.
Psalm 37:5 “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.”
