As Christians we are called to many things:
We are called to love God above everyone and everything else.
We are called to witness of Him in our lives.
We are called to overcome.
To overcome is to get the Victory over. We are called to overcome ourselves, and the circumstances in which we have been placed; in order to do God’s Will for our lives.
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
This is a great promise for every Christian. In Christ Jesus, as born again ones, we might have peace, in this world, with all it’s turmoil and anger. We can overcome.
1 John 5:5 “Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”
And how do we overcome?
1 John 5:4 “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
Because Christ overcame, we can too.
Revelation 21:7 “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”
In practical life, and that is where we all are, God’s Son, Jesus Christ really did overcome all things to see the Father’s will done;
His Word honored and obeyed in HIs life;
His glory manifested;
our Salvation complete.
Matthew 16:25 “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”
So Christ’s life lived out through us can overcome in all situations….seeing God’s will done;
Honoring His Word…and obeying Him for His glory;
Enjoying our Salvation….again, through Christ.
Let us overcome, by our faith. The faith given and implanted within us by the Holy Spirit….to use today.
