Have faith in God
Mark 11:22-23 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
And the mountain. I want to see cast into the sea?
Is that mountain that hinders me from seeing done what I’ve been called to do.
I want that mountain removed!
But perhaps all I need to do, is join hands with Jesus, and leap that mountain.
Song of Solomon 2:8 “The voice of my Beloved! Behold, He cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.”
I believe that for every Christian….there is a “mountain” which will show up in their path from here to heaven.
Mountains in scripture are the high, impossible things which we can do nothing about. They are to be scaled….hand in hand with God (leaped upon)….or removed.
These “mountains” are different for each of us…..what I would consider impossible…..might be easy for someone else….and visa versa.
But to each of His children…..the Lord says….”have faith in God.”
It is to God we should look….for what we need.
But then…..and this is often the catch….
“…and shall not doubt in his heart,….but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
We think of doubt as a very small sin…..a little wavering of our thoughts and belief….it might grow into unbelief….but surely doubt is a little hesitation.
But the Lord says that doubt will keep us from great blessings in our prayers and actions.
Doubt here (and in Matt.21:21)….means to “separate throughly”.
That does not sound like some small thing….rather it is the sin which keeps us from having the victory…..for our hearts are “separated” from faith.
We have forfeited the Victory….for all our Victory is by faith.
1 John 5:4 “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
Notice the doubt is in the heart…..not the mind.
It is in our affections that we are separated throughly…..
……for we begin to pull away from our devotion and love to the Lord….
……..and look to….or look for….another way.
Doubt does this…..and therefore we are warned against it.
Mountains can be leaped with the Lord…..and can be removed….by faith in God….
